So
the second annual Good Hope FM Rev Life event is coming
up this Saturday at Killarney and it’s promising
to be an epic one of note. It’s probably to be this
year’s biggest event yet with record breaking numbers
at Killarney. Raceweb, along with a few other media houses
was invited to a private media launch at the track yesterday
to give us a small taster of what’s to be expected.

SALDANHA
800m TOP END DRAGS 2013
Event
date: 26 October 2013 | Photos & story: RaceMasteR J |
Location:
Saldanha Airfield.
|
The
best way for me to describe going to this event is like
giving a knife to a monkey, you just never know what’s
going to happen. Saldanha Top End Drags has been in existence
for the last half a decade or so and has firmly grown
into one of the Western Capes most anticipated and well
attended events. There’s thousands and thousands
of people who flock to the airfield every year, sometimes
twice a year. This year however the organisers decided
to skip the April event to focus on making the end of
year one a success. But did they? [more] |

A
DAY IN THE LIFE OF: TEAM 426 AT THE ALL TAR RALLY + VIDEO
Event
date: 12 October 2013 | Photos & story: RaceMasteR J |
Location:
Killarney Race Track, Cape Town.
|
So
a few articles back I posted a story on “Preparing
for the All Tar Rally” with team 426,
Dexter Bruce and Ernest Page. It was the process of getting
their car sorted for the grueling All Tar Rally. With
that done and dusted the day finally arrived and I was
to follow the team’s progress throughout the day
to give you, the reader, an inside view of what’s
it like to actually participate in one of these events.

FERRARI
TRACK DAY
14
October 2013 | Story by: Nicholas Abrahams| Photos by: Otis
J. Gore | Location: Killarney Race Track
|
As
a child I always wanted to own a red Ferrari because Magnum
had one. As a teenager I wanted one because James Crockett(
Miami Vice) had a new one in every season and was also
the reason for not wearing socks for a year. Yesterday
I decided that I must have one because they’re just
so flipping cool. They look awesome, sound better and
let’s not even get into the clothing available.
Ferrari became more than just an automobile, it has finally
dawned upon me that it’s a way of life. [more] |

Saldanha Drags coming up this weekend I thought this image would
be fitting for this weeks pic of the week. This photo was from

PREPARING
FOR THE 2013 ALL TAR RALLY

I’m
rather excited right now, and I’m not even going
to be racing. It’s that time of the year again,
it’s time for the All Tar Rally at Killarney!! It’s
not like your normal rally, this is basically one massive
super special type stage held inside and all around the
circuit. Like the name says, it’s all on tarmac,
and when I say all, I do mean ALL! That’s basically
why I’m so excited because I will get to see race
and rally cars go balls to the wall through places you’d
never expect cars to be racing. They race through the
pit area, side roads, service roads, through the tunnel…
you name it! Oh, and they do race on track too, but ironically
that’s the boring part of it!

WE
DRIVE: OCEAN'S 7 LOTUS + VIDEO

As
Colin Chapman once said: Simplify, then add lightness.
He couldn’t have applied that theory better when
he came up with the Lotus 7 as it is still considered
the embodiment of the brand. Originally designed in 1957
it is one of the most successful models today due to its
boy racer appeal. Caterham currently own the rights to
the car but there are still plenty made all over the world
in kit car form. Today I got to drive a fine example of
one. [more] |

RACEWEB
IS GOING TO SEMA - TAKE 2!

So,
Last Year this time we started preparing to go to SEMA
2012. For those who don’t know, go read the article
we posted about it back in October last year. 09:30 AM,
29th October 2012, our bags were packed, we had managed
to arrange US VISA’s, SEMA Applications, Hotel Accommodation
and copious amounts of research in record time. But Mother
Nature had a different idea. Hurricane Sandy hit the East
Coast of the States with devastating effects. Our flight,
along with 7000 others all around the world was cancelled.

we've snapped over the years with a motorsport saying attached
