On
Saturday, 16th November Good Hope FM is once again hosting the
extreme lifestyle event Rev Life at Killarney Race Track from
7am until 10pm. This year European Drift Champion James Deane
will be joining the line-up to add some international flavour
to this adrenaline-fuelled motor fest.
James, born and raised in Ireland, started competing when he was
only 15 years old and is Europe’s most successful drifter
and youngest ever Prodrift Champion. Since then, James has gone
on to Win 5 Pro Class Championships throughout Europe, collecting
31 Podium finishes, at some of the World’s most prestigious
events.
After an epic drift battle in 2012, this year’s Rev Life
will once again include the SupaDrift regionals with drivers from
Cape Town battling it out for top honours against drivers from
Johannesburg, Durban and Mozambique.
Rev Life 2013 will also feature ten of South Africa’s best
spinners in a ‘King of Spin’ battle, 2012 SupaDrift
champion Jason Webb who will clutch kick into action with legendary
spinner Magesh, car sliding bosses D1S with international drift
athletes and a ‘Street Life’ car display.
For the more street able cars, the popular Street2Strip ‘Street
Rulez’ drag racing battle will be part of the day’s
programme. And for the sound junkies there will be a rare chance
to see records being broken in the ‘bragging rightz’
sound off.
Straight line fans will get their fix when Craig Kzank puts two
Turbo bikes and an 8-Sec Escort to the test with the legendary
Sybie Coetzee and Hannes Minaar making a guest appearance with
their lightning-quick drag machines.
The event promises to be full-throttled family fun with activities
for every member of the family, including a kiddies zone and food
court. The exhibition space at Killarney will be filled with the
latest trends in technology, performance, and car culture trends.
For those wanting to do more than just watch, the Go-Kart short
track will be available for show-goers to strap themselves in
and race till their hearts content.
The Good Hope FM Weekend Breakfast show, the Good Hope FM Top
30, the Teen Show, the Freakin Weekend and The 411 shows will
all be broadcasting live from Killarney to connect listeners to
the action.
After a day filled with mad drift exhibitions by the drift squad,
tandem drifting and adrenaline overload, Good Hope FM is hosting
an afterparty on the main straight featuring Ready D and his hip
hop crew on the decks. After party is open to all but the bar
area will be restricted to over 18’s only (identification
on request).
