After an epic days worth
of racing at the Ford & Friends event, it was time for Drift
Africa Driver Search Round 02. But due to this event being placed
after the main circuit racing at the end of the day, the sun was
going down faster than expected and it turned out to be a race
to get the most shots in before the sun was completely down.
Brian Canterbury
was the first of the brave ones out to stimulate the anxious crowds.
Being a Ford inspired day it was only fair to let a Ford open
the evening’s proceedings.
Once
again, due to the ever decreasing amount of sunlight, there was
a media frenzy inside the oval with almost all corners taken by
different photographers.
Ex Raceweb feature car with owner Dylan Cothill is one of the
die hard drifters making sure he is at every sideways event he
can attend.
One
of mine and I'm sure the crowd's favourites Jacques Lemmer always
ranks high up in the results. This is one of the prettiest car's
to photograph... if you can call a V8 monster like this pretty...?
It's great that Falken Tyres are onboard and showing their support
in this sport.
Poor Jade must
of gotten the shock of his life as he came around the corner sideways
only to find a more than tipsy chap parading on the track...he
was escorted rather quickly off the track... Cape Town... got
to love it!
Jason Webb
made a special trip down to the Cape just to have some fun with
the locals. It's amazing to see the speed and angle that Jason
enters the corner with. An awesome guy with awesome talent! I
can't wait to see this car in action again!
Falken Tyre
sponsored driver Rudi VD Berg also made the great trek to the
Cape to show off his rotary powered skills.
Sean February
in his 1J powered E30 BMW smokes up the oval as usual.
As usual you
will always find some gems in the parking area.
A norm amongst
drifters... can you say tyre change time trial challenge?
One of the newer drifters on the scene. It's plain to see how
he is enjoying himself... just look at that smile!
Here's
the round up of what the points standings look like thus far:
