legend Mika Salo to host car TV show AND Drag against a local
driver in South Africa.
Formula One racing legend Mika Salo is set to host the South African
edition of TEST MY RIDE at the Killarney International Raceway.
This fast-paced and furious car show pits amateur car enthusiasts
and their beloved rides against an F1 driver on a professional
racetrack.
If you’ve always dreamt of taking on a pro in the ride you’ve
spent your life making just perfect for you, now’s your
chance to do so under the cool, Scandinavian gaze of a man once
ranked amongst the top ten drivers in the world. Hosted in combination
with Killarney’s epic Street2Strip on ‘Fast Fridays’,
Drag Racers can enter for the chance to pit their car in a timed
drag run against Mika Salo.
How it works: Mika Salo will get into your car and do a timed
drag run, you will then do the same in your car. Winner will receive
spot prizes and their event fee returned. If interested please
send a picture of your car, specs and your reason for wanting
to take on the F1 driver to paul@wpmc.co.za by no later than Wednesday
30 September. Winner will be contacted directly so please include
your cell number. Winner must be available to be at Killarney
from 3pm onwards on Friday 2nd October 2015.
A lucky draw winner from the Spectators will be strapped into
the passenger seat for a drag run display of a lifetime against
one of Cape Town’s top drag racers. South African Producer,
Patrick Walton of ShootAway Production comments, “This is
a great opportunity to showcase our local talent on an international
stage. It has taken two years to bring this format to Cape Town.
My Finnish partners and I are excited about this and future series
in other regions and countries.”
Large crowds are expected for the finale from 16h30 on Friday,
2 October at Killarney Raceway, and have the opportunity to see
the man himself, Mika Salo). SO STREET2STRIP WILL START EARLIER
WITH A GRAND FINALE OF THE SHOW so plan to be at Killarney by
16:30 if you would like to watch.

Other viewing opportunities:
You are welcome to come watch our F1 driver take on local drivers
at the track on Wednesday 2pm-4pm. Thursday 2pm – 4pm and
Friday morning 10:30 – 12:30. You must arrive through the
MX gate and park in the braai area behind the new pits. Seating
is strictly on the Turn 2 Stands. There is no cost for attending
these spectator opportunities, but please bring your own refreshments.
