On the 6th and 7th of November 2015 the Western Capes premier top end drag racing event will once again be hosted by West Coast Racing. Drivers from all over South Africa will descend on the town Saldanha like a force of nature, ready for war.

The question on everyone’s minds is who will be crowned the King of Saldanha Nov 2015? Will Zain Ryland be able to extract every ounce of power from his twin turbo XR8 and hold his well-deserved crown from Easter? Will team SRD manage to break their personal best, and track best record setting the already impressive speed bar even hire?


A little while ago one could have said that the proverbial top dogs were safe with their speeds. That however, is no longer the case. We have seen huge improvements in the speeds of the competitors at Saldanha Drags over the years.

Every year the speed margin decreases as a result of the drivers building stronger, faster cars. Then there are the new comers. Guys who have never yet competed in the drags but who we know have really quick cars. Let’s not forget about the out of town crews who have been itching to slay rubber on our soil. Could some rookie or out of towner come in and upset the apple cart?

The only way to know is to be at Saldanha Drags on the 6th and 7th of November 2015. As always the drags will be held at Saldanha Airbase. Tickets are R100 for adults. Children 6-12 years old R30.00 and children under 5 years old enter free. Tickets are available at Computicket.
