South Africa’s premier drift
exhibition team D1S, in collaboration with GoodHope FM will set
fire to Cape Towns Killarney Racetrack, come November 10th. This
landmark event will feature South Africa’s top 32 Drifters,
along with the best from neighbouring Mozambique battling it out
for top honours against each other, in what has to be the most
epic Drift battle to ever take place on South African soil.
The judging panel will be run by Ernest Page, prominent WPMC
member and announcer, and Pro Drifter. He will be joined by
the husband and wife team of Brenton & Jennifer Gregory.
The day will also feature SA’s premier drifting exhibition
team, D1S performing and sequence together with SA stunt bike
rider, Brian Capper.
For straight line fans, the quickest cars over a ¼ mile
will be eager to show their best in the Regional MSA Drags.
The drag action will also include invited guests Boetie Budler
(Budler Motorsport),
Hannes Minnaar (Minnaar Racing Developments), Arthur “AJ”
Joubert (AJ Racing) and Steve Clark (No Sweat Racing), who will
naturally be accompanied by their lightning–quick drag
machines. For the more streetable cars, the very popular Street
2 Strip drag racing will also be taking place on the day. Sound
junkies will also have a rare chance to break World Records
as IASCA will be arriving in Cape Town to host the ultimate
sound off after a long absence.
Accompanying them will be the Castrol Mobile Dyno where horsepower
freaks can strap their machines to the rollers and see just
how much power they are capable of. Another totally new element
to Killarney events is the Lifestyle Exhibition space that will
be filled with the latest trends in technology, performance,
and car culture trends. For those wanting to do more than just
watch, the Go-Kart short track will be available for show-goers
to strap themselves in and race till their hearts content.
Miss Rev Life 2012 will provide eye candy of another kind, when
10 of the hottest girls in Cape Town entertain spectators whilst
they compete for the most coveted prize amongst female petrolheads.
GoodHope FM will be hosting the FREE on-track Afterparty which
is definitely going to be crazy! Look out for pre-event registration
and “meet & greets” where the lovely D1S promo
ladies will be on hand to pre-sell you tickets for raceday so
you can witness history in the making! R60 gets you in and kids
