November 2012 will see a host of Ferrari’s take to the track,
the event being the annual Ferrari Club Track Day. The event gives
owners of these beautiful fast cars an opportunity to drive them
quicker than they would on the road. Killarney is a challenging
track but it does also give owners an opportunity to revel in
the track ability of their cars.
The event offers
the public an opportunity to look at and most importantly listen
to these cars. Ferrari’s have always sounded fantastic and
for a few hours Killarney will be treated to some of the finest
Italian mechanical music.
Cars at the
track will vary from the iconic 308 to the latest 458 and Ferrari
FF; there will also be examples of the V12 cars, cars like the
599 and perhaps some real classics like the Dino. Of special interest
will be the appearance of the 599 GTO. These cars are particularly
rare, Ferrari made only 599 and there are very few in South Africa.
In essence the GTO a road going version of Ferrari’s ultimate
track day car, the 599 XX.
Gates to the
track will open at 8am and track time itself will start from 9am.
Entry fee is R20 per adult, children under 12 enter for free.
