August 2012: Streetcar Track Day, Drags practice and Street2Strip
After
many weeks of not running events due to the Muslim
Ramadan and being the middle of winter, Killarney
will open its doors this weekend to host a Streetcar
Track Day, Drags practice and Street2Strip on Saturday
25th August.
The days starts
off with a drivers briefing at 9am for all new comers
to the Streetcar Track Days, this is where the rules
of the day are explained and flags shown. Once this
has been completed drivers will be allowed onto
the circuit in one of three groups available. Track
sessions last till two o clock where the last hour
is an open session for all drivers that have taken
part on the day.
This will be followed
by setup of the circuit for quarter mile drag racing
and is expected to take about two hours due to major
gates than need to be closed, fencing moved around
the start line area and the crash barriers opened
at the end of the main straight.
MSA
Drag racing practice will commence from 4pm and
a few hours will be made available to the competitors
participating in the following weekends MSA Drags
on Saturday 1st September. |
