The year has been filled
with awesome motoring events but nothing stands out as much as
the instalments from the Last Lion Lifestyle group. They have
managed to start their Season Finale from the pitch of the World
Cup Cape Town Stadium which I did not even think was possible.
This McLaren 650s stole the show everytime the sun reflected off
its Volcano red paint.
It was something completely new to the stadium and thanks to a
massive social media presence the crowds gathered in their masses
just outside the very exclusive event to see the parade leave.
The exit was a spectacular of almost 500 Million Rands worth of
supercars. On exit the road was filled with Ferrari’s, Porsche,
Lamborghini’s, Jaguar, McLaren, Maserati and Mercedes Benz.
A classic, the legend. Does it come with handle bar mustach like
Magnum P.I?
International Lamborghini Racing driver David Perel clipping the
apex in his Bently. If it were a manuel I'm sure he would
be using the heel and toe technique.
Those lucky enough to get invited inside the stadium were spoilt
by Vida café staff pitch side while taking pictures with
some of Cape Town’s most expensive and exclusive machines.
The group then left in procession by police escort down the N1
where lots of unsuspecting members of the public were spoilt by
the more than 120 car train all the way to the Engen Garage on
the N2 to regroup.
The
group caused a small frenzy at the garage before leaving for the
beach road to Hermanus.
Thousands of beach dwellers and holiday makers left the sand and
surf to line one of the most scenic roads in the world armed with
smart devices to catch the spectacle.
Always a favourite at all the events.
The group eventually ended up at Benguela Cove private resort
for a catered lunch with an amazing lagoon backdrop. Guests were
also spoilt with free boat rides on the lagoon while others relaxed
on the beach.
The Last Lion Lifestyle team with their sponsors arranged a world
class event for their members and has set the bar for the 2016
year extremely high.
They even had their own super-police cars to control the 100+
convoy...
From the experiences from last year as any indicator for the next
we have a lot to look forward to. I as a member of the media would
like to thank the group for the invitation and hope to be part
of this brand going forward.
